My New Book: History of the Green Party in the U.S.
by Alan F. Zundel
Hello! It’s been a while since I posted on this blog, but I have continued writing during that time. I’ve recently published a new e-book, The History of the Green Party in the United States, Part 1: Movement or Party (1983-1994).
The book is part of a larger project to cover the history of the Green Party in the U.S. up to the present day, or at least through the election of 2016. Part 1 is only available as an e-book, and at this time only as a Kindle edition through Amazon for only $3.99, but the complete history will be available in both hardcover and paperback. There is a free Kindle app available to allow reading on any electronic device.
Part 1 covers events and key personalities in the first incarnation of the national Green organization, from its inspiration in the 1983 electoral victory of the German Green Party to its 1992 breakup into two organizations and the immediate aftermath. The key issue in this phase of the party’s history was whether it was to be the national organization of a Green movement or a new political party running candidates for elected offices at all levels, including the Presidential. This dramatic struggle over strategy nearly destroyed what was to become one of the most successful alternative parties in the recent history of the United States.
Part 1 has eight chapters:
Ch. 1. A Personal Overview
Ch. 2. The German Spark
Ch. 3. The First Founding
Ch. 4. Fledgling Fights
Ch. 5. Leftists, Unite!
Ch. 6. Full-Fledged Fights
Ch. 7. Get the Parties Started
Ch. 8. The Breakup
Your purchase of a copy will help me to complete the full history. And don’t forget to leave a review on Amazon! Thanks!
